How to Install a PS3 Update From Your PC

Those who don’t have an internet connection on their PS3 always find it a little difficult to install an update. What most people don’t know is that, it can be done by downloading the update into your PC. For doing that, all you need is USB flash drive (you can also use a DVD or a CD) and a PC with an internet connection.

Install PS3 Update From PC

Now, follow the steps below to update your PS3 from your PC

Step 1: Download the latest PS3 update (Which can be found easily on Googling).

Step 2: Open the flash drive window and make a new folder and name it ‘PS3’. Now, open the PS3 folder (created now) and make another folder with the name ‘UPDATE’ (remember that the folder names are case sensitive. So, it must be written in capital letters).

Step 3: Now, Copy and paste the update (the update will be in ‘.PUP’ file format) which you have downloaded from the internet to the UPDATE folder.

Step 4: Well, now you have to plug the USB flashdrive in to your PS3 console and then do the update (to update go to ‘setting ‘then to ‘system update’ and then select ‘system update from storage device’).

This technique is very simple and handy if you have problems with your PS3 updates or if the update is not being detected by your PS3.
